Costcutter are the only National Independent retail operation operating throughout the UK and Ireland, with approximately 1200 stores. Rising to the difficult challenge of competing with the large supermarket chains on both price and product range whilst fulfilling the convenience factor, Costcutter has helped drive the 'mini-mart' into the high quality complete retail environment it is today. This applies particularly to the Costcutter in Northampton who have embraced the unique challenges of this style of retailing and successfully risen to them.

Costcutter realised that traditional tills were not able to provide them with the information, control and daily business efficiencies needed and that a quality EPoS system was the way to allow the business to compete effectively moving into the 21st century. Speed of service at the checkout is all part of the convenience factor and the ease of use to minimise training requirements, delays and mistakes were all basic requirements of the new system. Additionally Costcutter identified reliability as a crucial factor to ensure that the PoS stood up to the demands of the high quantity of daily transactions.
