Since opening it's first store in 1973, Molton Brown, the renowned supplier of naturally prepared quality cosmetics has seen rapid growth. Synonymous with quality, the success of the company is such that its products are now sold in over 40 UK outlets , as well as franchises in prestigious department stores throughout the UK, including Harvey Nichols and Selfridges. The company also has partnerships supplying several leading hotel chains.

In it's infancy, Molton Brown traded with a PoS system comprising a standard PC with keyboard and mouse, supplied by ECR. However, with the rapid growth of the company, it soon became apparent that the company had outgrown the system. Support was becoming an increasing issue as the old tills were becoming uneconomical to repair and stock replenishment and reporting were proving inaccurate. Furthermore, straggling cables at the point of sale were not in keeping with the company's quality conscious image. Molton Brown needed a PoS solution that could keep up with the growing demands of the business, control stock and provide full management reporting.
